Dear friends in Christ,
Welcome to our website. I look forward to your visit to what I believe is one of the most beautiful and breath-taking places in the world. There is much to do here at the Grand Canyon between the trails and points of interest, so it is nice to take a little time away from it all and rest in God here at El Cristo Rey Chapel. We aren’t far from the lodge and the church is open throughout the week during the day. Priests can always be reached if there is an emergency (928-607-4582).
Our regular Mass schedule is as follows: Saturday vigil Mass at 4:30 pm, and Sunday Masses at 8:30 am and 10:30 am. We hope you can join us to celebrate the love of our God through his Son, Jesus.
Sunday Mass is about giving God thanks, from which we get the word, Eucharist. I hope that our Mass schedule is convenient for your time at the canyon and that you take that time to recall and give thanks to the One who has formed all of creation. Our little chapel, which is the only Catholic Church inside a National Park, is located in the middle of the village and some say it isn’t the easiest to find, so please look on the map on this web site or Google it. The park rangers should be able to help if you get lost.
Enjoy your time here and again thanks for visiting us here. If there is anything I can do to make your time here more enjoyable and spiritual, I am here at your service.
